The North Coast Express Hoopsters - Boys AAU Basketball Organization is a talented & dedicated group of student athletes. Founded in 2004, and based in Alameda, California, our players are from Alameda, Oakland, San Leandro, Hayward, Berkeley & Walnut Creek. We currently have 6 teams, with players ranging from 11 - 14 years of age.

We offer our athletes the opportunity to play against the best competition in Northern California through league play. Our travel teams have consistently placed in the top 3 in statewide competition at the California State Games. Through tournament play in AAU sanctioned events, we compete against teams from across the nation. Our athletes travel schedule for 2008 includes events in Sacramento, San Diego, Portland, Reno, Las Vegas, Houston, Dallas and Jackson, MS.

Our focus is on developing the total student-athlete. We have very strict GPA standards (2.5), and students must meet these requirements in order to participate.

Studies have shown that children who are involved in sports tend to remain engaged in healthy activities as they grow into adolescence and adulthood. We want our Hoopsters to excel at basketball, but most importantly, to excel at LIFE. Ours is a college preparatory league. Through participation in this league, the Hoopsters will learn the value of discipline and hard work; sportsmanship & fair play; respect for adults and their teammates; and how to win with grace and to lose with dignity. They will be exposed to learning experiences outside of basketball, and will explore the arts & sciences through a varied and enriching curriculum.
